So a few months ago I spent a magical week exploring the ancient ruins, crystal waters and marvellous architecture of Rome, Florence, Venice and Milano.
Rome: Like something out of a history textbook it was filled with the sites that I learned about in school, the Colosseum and the Forum are definitely even more impressive to walk around in than they are to read about.
Florence: Home. I don’t know why that comes to mind but it was the first thought that raced into my head when I stayed in this place. There’s something about it that is so real, lively and authentic.
Venice: Extravagance and sense of indulgence is at the forefront of impressions when you step foot in this maze-like city. There’s an unpredictability that I absolutely loved- a sense of getting lost (which happened too many times to count)… also reception is not always reliable. At all. Please bring a map
Milano: The most modernised city of the four, it’s design makes it perfect for shopping and people watching. There’s a business-like quality to it which it didn’t quite sit right with me after the rich culture of the previous cities. Whether you like it depends on personal taste, of course.
I highly highly highly (!!) recommend staying in apartments instead of hotels it completes the whole experience with a cherry on top.
I cannot recommend Italy enough and am dying to go back (shocking I know), Specifically to Florence and Venice, those two are forever etched in my heart…
Lots of love, Ves xxx
